Privacy message to our customers
The protection of your personal information has always been very important to us. Recently, new privacy laws have been enacted in Canada. These have not required significant changes to our already high standards of privacy protection, but we have created procedures and policies to ensure compliance with the new laws. We will continue to protect the confidentiality of your personal information.
Regarding our insurance products, basic information is gathered at the time of application to determine the premium and appropriate coverage. If a loss occurs, we may need to collect additional information from your attending or family physician, for example. This information ensures that we are able to offer the best possible assistance to you and your family. Information is collected to assist in your ongoing care, including possible medical evacuation, and to determine coverage. After the information is used, it is kept secure for the period required by law.
When purchasing a non-insurance related product from any TU Group company, personal information that is collected is used to determine your needs and to serve you better.
Your policy booklet, application or order form or terms of sale contain further information about privacy matters.
