Richmond,
B.C., October 1, 2004 – Beginning October
1, 2004, World Wide Mediclaim Services Ltd. (WWMS)
will become OneWorld Assist Inc. The name change
reflects the company's scope of expertise in travel
and international assistance, in addition to claims
management and cost containment.
For
more than 25 years, the company has handled all
claims on Travel Underwriters travel insurance
policies. For customers of Travel Underwriters,
it has offered international travel and medical
assistance. For national and international insurers,
OneWorld has provided cost management and claims
administration services.
This
new name expresses a commitment to providing a
safety net for life's unexpected twists and turns.
When help is needed, the right insurance policy
leads to the right assistance provider – OneWorld
Assist.
As
a result of this change, any claims opened prior
to October 1, 2004 will be administered under
the name World Wide Mediclaim Services Ltd. Claims
opened on or after this date, will be processed
under the new name OneWorld Assist Inc.
OneWorld
Assist is a member of TU Group, which oversees
the strategic direction of Travel Underwriters,
TravelGold Mexico, OneWorld Assist and OneWorld
Medicare. TU Group is based in Richmond, BC, with
offices in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, San Diego
and Mexico City.
